Despite being actively involved in politics, ‘Desperate Housewives’ star Eva Longoria insists that she will never be able to make the shift from actress to politician, for she’s sure that people will always think of her as her character on the hit show.
Speaking to a group of Latin political leaders at a lunch in Washington on Wednesday (15 Nov) Longoria, who plays the seductive Gabrielle Solis on the show, joked that though she wanted to run for President of the United States, her past on the show, which included an affair with a teenage gardener, faking a paternity test, and having a husband who was imprisoned, would be just too chequered for the American people.
However, one place where Longoria was confident she would win, was California, which also voted to make ‘Terminator’ Arnold Schwarzenegger the Governor.
"I'm here today to announce my candidacy for president. Oh, wrong speech! In the last two years, I've had an affair with the gardener and a teenager, I've faked a paternity test, my husband went to prison, and I threw him out of a window. I would probably win in California," Femalefirst quoted her, as saying.
The feisty Latina also joked that their wild sex lives on the show had left the cast of the hit series extremely confused about their political leanings.
"I think everybody on Wisteria Lane has the money of a Republican, but the sex life of a Democrat so it's a really political show," she added.

Music career
Holly's first single as a recording artist was Kiss Kiss, released in 2002. Kiss Kiss is her version of the original song Şımarık by Turkish superstar Tarkan.[citation needed] The video for Kiss Kiss was notable in that Valance appeared to be dancing naked. In fact, she was dancing whilst wearing flesh colored underwear; the footage was then digitally retouched adding strategically placed lighting effects. Her début album Footprints was released on October 14, 2002.
Kiss Kiss debuted at #1 in both the Australia ARIA charts and UK Singles Charts in (April-May 2002). Kiss Kiss scored Holly 4 ARIA nominations. Her next single, Down Boy peaked at #2 in the UK and at #3 in Australia, while her album Footprints debuted and peaked at #9 in the UK and at #15 in Australia. Her third single Naughty Girl peaked at #3 in Australia and at #16 in the UK. The first single State of Mind from her next album of the same name debuted and peaked at #8 in the UK and at #14 in Australia, but the album didn't get into the top 50 of either country.
Desire was, according to some rumors, to be the 2nd official single coming out of Holly's third album and she even made a few performances for the promotion but it would get cancelled due to poor album sales. Although "Somebody Out There," "Ricochets," "Desire" and "Everything I Hate" were all scheduled to be released as singles, with "Please Please Please Me" to be the lead-off single for a third album; following legal problems with her manager/boyfriend, and poor sales from the album "State of Mind," Valance was dropped from her recording company.
She signed a £3 million deal with the hair products company Schwarzkopf Live to front the new line aimed at an early teen to early 20s market. Valance was seen modeling Cosmic Blue, Sahara True Blonde, Hypnotic Red as well as XXL dresses and XXL hats (each colour has a strapline which referenced other popular culture artists). The adverts could be seen across the United Kingdom at bus stops, shopping malls, on buses and in magazines.During this time, Valance appeared on Har Mar Superstar's album "The Handler" singing on tracks "Body Request" and "Back the Camel up".There have been several rumors since Holly's latest musical release that she was preparing and working on a third album, most of which ended up being false.

That kills me, when I think about it. It totally breaks my heart, how lucky I am."
